Over the last few years, it has become evident that we are in a battle for the heart and soul of Monroe. But there is always hope.
Michelle Ball is a true conservative running for Monroe, North Carolina City Council who will uphold the values that she has advocated for during the last three years of community involvement and regular attendance and public comments at city council meetings.
She is concerned about the world she leaves for her children and grandchildren, but it doesn't stop there. She cares about every child and every resident of Monroe. Her top concerns are the protection of children, public safety, and responsible growth.
Her passion for helping others and seeing Monroe thrive is rooted in her faith in Jesus Christ and love for the freedoms that are woven throughout the fabric of our nation.
Michelle Ball is not a career politician. She is a Monroe resident who believes local government should work for families — not special interests.
This election is about protecting Monroe before it’s too late!
Why vote michelle ball for monroe city council?
When I am elected your councilwoman, I will consider the interests of everyone in the city, but I promise to represent the values of those who elected me. In our system, authority comes only from the voters who elected you. You can care about the whole community, but you cannot represent people who did not give you that mandate. Words matter, but accountability matters more.
Q&A with the enquirer journal
Q: How long have you lived in Monroe, and can you describe a bit about yourself? (Occupation, leadership experience/other relevant experience, and any other background you'd like to share)
A: I made Monroe my home over three years ago, and I saw the amazing qualities that Monroe has, but I also witnessed many challenges. I immediately became involved in the community and began attending and speaking at every City Council meeting. During this time, I learned so much about how the city operates as well as improvements that need to be made. I also formed amicable relationships with the police department and the fire department, as well as many citizens of our city.
Q: Why did you decide to run for council?
A: I am not a politician. I am a mother and a grandmother who cares about the world that we pass down to our children and grandchildren. I believe that getting involved and doing our part is the least we can do to help our communities thrive.
Q: What do you feel makes you the best candidate for council?
A: Frankly, I am the best candidate for council because I am not a politician. I am just a real person who has been through real life, real hardships, and real challenges. I think the average voter is looking for someone who resonates with them. I understand that we are living in a time of high taxation, overdevelopment, and insecurity about our future as Americans.
Q: What will your priorities be if you are elected to council?
A: My top priorities will be transparency from your local government, protection from high-density development, advocacy for law and order, protection from high taxation, protection of our Constitutional rights, and the protection of children from grooming and sexualization (for what most people know me for). The heart and soul of Monroe is at risk when we do not care for the most vulnerable among us.
Q: Are there any specific projects or initiatives you'd like to work on/start if you are elected to council?
A: Downtown Monroe is lovely, and I love spending time there. But there is an opportunity to see investment in the more visible areas of Monroe. I would like to drive down Roosevelt Boulevard and see it improved. It would be wonderful, in addition to what we already have, for there to be family restaurants and events that people drive from other cities to come to, bringing revenue to our city.
Q: Anything else you'd like voters to know?
A: I have spent my life raising my children and educating them at home. Now I am a caretaker for my elderly mother. I am not running for city council to make a name for myself or to make a career out of it. I am simply running because I love Monroe! I love North Carolina! I love the United States of America!
